Biography
Krisztina MEGYERI is born in 1974 in Budapest from a Hungarian mother and Russian father, Krisztina studied piano and composition at Bartók Béla Conservatory, then graduated in Composition (MA) at the Ferenc Liszt Music Academy, Budapest in 2004. From 1999-2001 she studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Lyon and later in Paris, where she graduated also as a piano accompanist-vocal. She holds a DMA in Composition (2013), living in France from 1999 to 2008.Kriszt
Her music has been commissionned and performed in Europe and USA by the Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris (Le jardin étranger, 2003), Fondation Royaumont, Orchestre National de Lorraine (MétéoRites, 2005) Ensemble SIC, Peter Eötvös, recorded by the Radio France, SWR, Hungarian and Finnish Radio. Her first opera Frühlings Erwachen (2018) and Nousnoyons-nous (2003) were created recently in Budapest.
From 2008 living back in Hungary, She is active as a composer, musicologist and pianist. Her music is written for various settings: symphonic orchestra, vocal music, opera, instrumental solos and ensemble.
